Potty Training: Getting ready
Ok, so we went and purchased the toddler potties last night. 2 froggy potties and 1 dino potty (they only had pink froggy potties and Michael was not down with that lol). The kids found them entertaining to sit on, drag around, and take apart. I suppose this is good and bad (as far as the playing with them). Potty training here we come! I think this is more stressful right now for Michael then me, surprisingly. I know it is going to be messy, I am sure tears (mine) will be involved, and it is going to be a lot of work, but if it goes well we will be done with this hurdle.
Michael on the other hand invisions all the horrible things (mess) that goes along with doing this. I mentioned that I was thinking about starting Fri instead of Sat so hopefully Sat when he is home it won’t be as bad and he was like “what about waiting a week more?” I won’t lie, I am nervous too but I would rather jump in and see then push it off due to fear. It was the same with transitioning to the toddler beds and that went fairly smoothly, so I have hope 🙂 I have decided to try going bare bottom the first day at least and possibly the second. We are going to take up all the throw rugs, and keep the bedroom doors closed so they don’t have access to them until they get this down. We decided to not go the “treat, reward” route because we don’t want it to become a habit that they get an M&M every time for god only knows how long. So we thought we would just try the praise/ potty dance when they do go in their potties. I am still at a debate on which day to start but I am leaning towards Fri. So stay tuned for all the lovely tid bits 🙂
