Life with Three Toddlers

Life with three toddlers running around the house is never dull. Somewhere there is always mayhem a foot. Haley has taken to carrying her toddler chair around and using it as a step stool. Her favorite “game” is pushing it against the fish tank stand, climbing up, and playing in the water. She thinks it’s one of the funnest things in the world, although our Bala sharks go nuts every time she does it. I have tried to explain it to her, but really how do you reason with an 18 month old? Out of the three she is the one who gets in the most trouble right now. She is extremely smart and also a daredevil. A very dangerous combination.

Just last week she has figured out how to safely and quickly climb out of the shopping cart! She was always my laid back, quiet baby, but no more. She is obsessed with climbing on everything, taking things apart, and getting into everything she is not supposed to. On the flip side though she is generally a happy child, loves to laugh, and tries to involve her siblings in all of her adventures… Wait maybe that last part wasn’t such a good thing lol. Criton… Oh my crazy little boy. Haley and him are similar in so many ways. They are usually getting into trouble together and always looking for the next adventure. He throws himself fully into everything he does. He plays hard and is always trying to get the girls involved in what he’s doing. He is super quick too. He doesn’t have a lot of patients yet though, so when he can’t figure something out right away he gets frustrated but at least he doesn’t give up. He loves to play with any kind of ball and has a good throw. He recently started getting into sitting on the floor and flipping through boo. Sometimes he’ll sit there for 20 mins looking through them, smiling and babbling at me. It is the longest time I have seen him sit still. It must be hard for him at times since he is the only boy and the girls try to monopolize any one on one dad time. So I think the girls and I are going to try to have some “girl” time every now and then so Dad and Criton can go do some one on one guy stuff. Caitlin is a little different then the other two. She just acts older. When she is done with her lunch she puts her plate on the big table (they eat at their little table) and when the others are done she does the same with theirs. She tries to organize the toys and when I start to pick up she’ll come help. If I am trying to get someones attention and they don’t respond quickly she’ll go up and tap on their shoulder or back to get them. Just odd little things like that, that make her seem older. She plays hard though, like they do, and loves to laugh. She loves to play with the big trucks, fire engine, and little cars on the rug. She talks more then the other two (as far as me being able to understand what she is saying) but is still shy around strangers. They are three peas in a pod though. If one gets upset they all get upset. If one gets hurt the other two are rushing to their side. They run up and down the hallway laughing and chasing each other. They love to get a belt and drag each other around (one at each end).It is moments like those that make feel warm and fuzzy inside. To see that deep bond that they all share. It is truly amazing. They can all have so very different personalities but they can’t stand being apart from one another. I can’t wait till they get older so I can actually talk to them about those kinds of things and hear their perspectives. Life in general is good. Things are always busy and there always seems to be some kind of “drama” going on, but that is my life and I wouldn’t change it. Been having some trouble getting the pictures and video from my phone to the blog but hopefully will have that sorted out very soon. They have changed so much and I can’t wait to show all of you. We also have got some great videos! Hopefully this weekend when Michael has time to sort it out then I will get to share them on here. 🙂 Well nap time seems to be at an end and natives want their snack.
