18 Month Schedule: Big Changes for the Triplets
Our schedule has drastically changed since going to toddler beds. We had pretty much been stuck in the same schedule since they went down to one nap around 11 months old but that is a thing of the past now! Recap: Our typical schedule as far as sleep went something like this before… Wake up about 6-6:30am, nap at 11am (usually slept for 2-3 hours), and bedtime at 6:30-7pm. I have been wanting a later bedtime for what seems like forever now. I also wanted a later in the afternoon nap so we could get out more in the mornings and do more stuff.
The kids were having none of that though. They would fight me tooth and nail for any schedule change. For whatever reason when we moved into toddler beds they decided to allow me all those things I wanted! Our typical schedule at 18 months (almost 19 months) looks like this now: 7:30ish they get up Breakfast by 8am Play and then a snack around 9:30 Lunch is now about 11:30-noonish They go down for a nap about 1pm (sometimes they sleep for an hour, sometimes they sleep for 3 hours. We are still a little hit and miss there) They have a light snack when they get up Dinner is now about 6-6:30ish (So grateful for this one. Now the whole family can eat together) Bedtime is anywhere between 8-9pm. This varies a little depending on the day but it always after 8pm and before 9pm. Thank you toddler beds!! I know it seems kinda silly to some out there but these are some big changes for us and is making our family life better. They get more time with Dad during the week (he gets home from work about 5:30). We are taking the kids for walks in the evenings. Everyone eats dinner together which has been my dream for awhile now but because of the previous schedule Dad always missed out. Since naps are later, that means we get out more in the mornings and are doing different things. The triplets also seem much happier in general. So if you are switching to toddler beds be prepared for schedule changes. Be flexible and if you were like me, desperately wanting some change, you will most likely get it!
