Transitioning to Toddler Beds: Day 5
Well we are on day five of transitioning to toddler beds. I would like to say everything is perfect but on the other hand it really isn’t that bad either. Night time is going pretty smoothly. They usually insist on all piling into one of the beds. This wouldn’t be a huge issue except when one starts getting to rolling on the others there is a brief upset in the room.
They are sleeping a little longer in the mornings though which is nice and waking up happy as clams. They usually settle down and go to sleep between 7-8pm and woke up this morning around 7:30am. Yay team! The biggest hit and miss is nap time. They would take 2-3 hour naps before we made the switch. There has been a few days were naps just haven’t happened which is hard. They go into the room and play during the nap time (between 12-2pm). Those days are long, the kids are generally cranky until dad gets home and by then I am fried. Other days I have seen between 45mins to 2 hour naps. I am hoping that the napping issues will fix themselves soon. Now some may be asking, “Do you regret moving them at this age?” The answer is no. Although there are some rough patches, it is better then them climbing out and getting hurt. I’ll keep everyone updated on the progress. Tip of the day: Just keep trying. It’s not going to be perfect at first but it will get there!
