18 month old Triplets!
I ca not believe the kids are 18 months old now. They are super independent, sometimes more then mommy would like. Climbing on everything is still a huge hit with them, though they are taller and more skilled now, so they try to scale everything including the bookcase (attached to the wall). The thing they love the most though is being outside. They would stay out there all day if I would let them. We still need to finish fencing in the yard though before we can stay out there for long periods of time with just me.
After about 30 mins to n hour someone (usually Haley or Criton) gets to exploring and tries to make a break for the front yard so we have to go in at that point. They love playing in their pool and sprinkler which we recently set up for them. Criton has managed to figure out all of the child safety latches and electric covers so we have gone to duck taping them all up. Makes the house look a little weird and a pain when you need to plug something in, like the vacuum that I use at least 3 times a day, but it has allowed us to buy a little more time 🙂 They are all super smart and pick up things quick. They love music, dancing, and are starting to try to sing along with some songs (though it is more humming then actual words). They have some phrases and words but not enough to have a conversation with yet 😉 Although they seem to understand each other very clearly. They hate sitting in their booster seats at the table now, although some dinners I still make them. The rest of the time they eat at their little table and chairs set. Freedom of movement seems to be important to them right now. They hate to be confined to anything except their carseats. I can’t wait until they are big enough to sit at the big table by themselves though. Some of my happy, smile, and make you say awe moments recently are: the girls running down the hallway holding hands and laughing. When they run through the house playing tag. Sitting together on the floor flipping through books. Jumping on my bed watching music videos and trying to sing. When they crawl up into dad’s lap right before bed and he tries to figure out the best way to rock three at once. Taking our morning walks around the neighborhood and listening to them babble at each other. I will never say that raising triplets is easy, because it’s not, but the rewards are limitless 🙂
