Playrooms

The way our house is set up is a little strange. There are three bedrooms on one side of the house, kitchen, living room, and dinning room in the middle, and the master bedroom/ partial basement on the other side. The master bedroom is 16×21. One side of the room has our bed/ bedroom furniture in it. The other side is set up as a sitting area/ office space. 

Since my husband works from home we (Michael, Miche, and I) usually hang out in our room. We joke that it is the new living room. As the triplets have gotten older and have required more toys, play equipment, and general space, our room just became too small. Also it was really hard for Michael to get work done with the babies there even though I was the one managing them. So I decided to convert the living room into our playroom. I spent most of Thursday deep cleaning, rearranging, and clearing out the living room to make room for all the baby stuff. Then we moved all their stuff in. It gave us tons more room to spread out and play. It also gave Michael his office area back along with the peace to do his work. Today was the first day in there and for us it worked out great. Michael and I talked tonight and set up “office hours”. Before his hours always varied but he usually would work from 8/9am to anywhere between 6 to 11pm. I know that sounds crazy (and it is) but those are the hours he has kept for the last 5 years since he started working from home instead of going into the office.  (He is a network administrator/ web designer/ computer guru (my term) person. ) Now his new hours are going to be 9am-5pm Mon – Fri. I know occasionally something will happen and he will run over but I have been pretty adamant about him stopping at 5pm so he has an hour or so with the kids and I before I start our bedtime routine, which is important to me. Hopefully this will allow him to concentrate more on work during the day and allow us to have some family time at night and on the weekends. I will let you guys know how next week goes. Tomorrow I will write more about the children and such. I am exhausted though and need to get some rest since I have to work at the hospital tomorrow. Have a great night!
